OFFICE PARK DEFIES THE SLUMP WITH NEW LETS

Business Homes, a developer of small business accommodation in the UK, is celebrating a double letting at its £5m development in Turnberry Park, Leeds.
Turnberry Park, a 30,000sq ft office development off junction 27 of the M62, has the potential to create about 250 jobs.
Kinnarps (UK0 the Swedish office furniture company, has taken all 3,000 sq ft on the first floor in Building 3.
At the same time, all of the first floor of Building 4, comprising 2,000 sq ft, has been taken by The Rescue Service, an independently owned road rescue company.
Commercial property consultants, Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) and Savills are joint letting agents on the scheme.
Robin Beagley, head of office agency at LSH's Leeds office said "Even though the out-of-town market is challenging at present, we have seen good interest for the buildings at Turnberry, which is principally down to the location of the scheme and the quality of the buildings constructed by Business Homes."
Paul Fairhurst of Savills explained: "The headline rentals achieved on the park are market leading compared to rents achieved on other competing schemes.
"Companies looking to move are now lookiing at the total ongoing occupational costs rather than the headline rent."
Business Homes is developing similar schemes at 25 locations across the UK. In Yorkshire they have sites at Barlborough Links near Sheffield and St James Business Park, near Knaresborough.
