| 04.01.06 SUCCESS AT CALDER PARK CONTINUES WITH A HAT-TRICK Only six months after the launch of Calder Park, Business Homes’ second speculative scheme in Wakefield, the specialist office developer can report a further 3 deals, totalling almost 10,000 sq ft (929 sq m) of office space. The latest deals confirm that phase 1 is now fully sold or let with work only having recently completed on site.
Two deals have been secured on a leasehold basis with the national construction group Rok, having taken a 3,000 sq ft, and the Air Conditioning division of International company Mitsubishi Electric leasing 2,500 sq ft of office space. The third deal is with 3E Consulting Engineers which has opted to take their 4,000 sq ft building on a freehold basis.
Says James Hobson of Mitsubishi Electric: “We have been looking to relocate for quite a while due to expansion requirements, but we needed a property that would reflect the global status of our business.
Calder Park was the perfect solution as it is a dynamic new development which will help to create and set a fitting corporate brand for our business.”
Benefits of the scheme’s strategic location next to junction 39 of the M1, and close to the intersection of the M1 and M62 motorways, have also been highlighted as a reason for choosing Calder Park. Says Melvyn Risbin, Director of 3E Consulting Engineers: “We provide civil and structural engineering solutions to clients throughout the UK therefore accessibility is very important.
“Not only does Calder Park provide excellent road and motorway links for the client side of our business, but it is also in a great location for our workforce - the majority of whom live South of Leeds and now enjoy a hassle free journey to work!”
The three deals highlight the complete flexibility with which Business Homes markets its property. Both freeholds and flexible leaseholds can be accommodated at Calder Park and other Business Homes’ schemes throughout the UK. Agents on the scheme are the Leeds offices of GVA Grimley and Lambert Smith Hampton
