| 24.09.07 SMALL COMPANIES FIND A NEW HOME PROPERTY group BuildingHomes has unveiled its new £7.5 million development at Winnersh Fields. The new site comprises seven separate office buildings, totalling 28,000 square feet, and has been purpose-built to cater for smaller businesses. The Evening Post got the first look at the plush development, which took nine months to construct and was officially launched on Thursday. The self-contained units range from l,324sq ft to 6,168 sq ft and will provide occupiers with high specification office space over two storeys in an open landscaped setting. All buildings have air comiitioning, a 24-hour telecom security system, kitchenettes and designated parking and are available to purchase or to lease. Located off Reading Road, the site is within walking distance of Winnersh Triangle railway station and benefits from close proximity to Junction 10 of the M4. James Weedon, managing director of Business Homes Group in the South, claimed the development had been designed specifically to tap into the region's thriving SME market. He said: "This is one of the most impressive high spec builds in Reading in the last five years. "It's in a great location and is the only quality accommodation on the market that is tailor-made for smaller occupiers with 15 employees or less. "When you look around at the business parks, you will notice that all the office space has been designed for big corporates such as Microsoft and Cisco. Smaller firms can't afford to go out and buy 20,000 sq ft. "What Winnersh Fields offers them is flexible and affordable office space with their own front door." Mr Weedon said it is the firstclass disabled access that will be the biggest selling point for the site, which has wheelchair ramps, lifts and toilets fitted to all units as standard. "We are immensely proud of the disabled access here," he added. "Each building is fully compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act, which we believe is unusual and unrivalled in the area. "The project shows Business Homes' commitment to Reading and underlines our confidence in the area. "The take-up has been good and it should prove highly attractive to the increasing number of smaller occupiers in the market." |
