| 25.01.08 BUSINESS HOMES CALA LIMITED CONTINUES SCOTTISH EXPANSION Business Homes CALA Ltd, one of the
UK's leading developers of small
office pavilions, is continuing its
success and expansion in Scotland with the
acquisition of further sites in the country.
To date, the company has completed five developments north of the border with two of these in Glasgow, one development at Halbeath Interchange at Dunfermline, one at Glasgow Airport Business Park. These schemes provided in total 106,678 sq.ft and of this total 72.33% of all buildings were either pre-sold or pre-let.
Further phases of development are
planned at Halbeath and Satellite Park
and three new developments are currently
under construction providing a further
84,344 sq.ft of accommodation. These
schemes are located in Aberdeen (Crombie
Mills Business Park and Twin Spires
Business Park) and at New Houstoun
Business Park in Livingston.
The key to the success of the Business
Homes office pavilions is the size of
accommodation provided and the fact that
these smaller buildings are geared towards
the SME market where 97.8% of British
businesses are in terms of company size.
Development Director for Scotland,
Brian Robinson, was appointed to take
future development forwards in the
country commented, "Our product has
been developed over a period of 10 years
and with this experience, we know
exactly what smaller businesses are
looking for in terms of office
accommodation. These types of
organisations are looking for highly
specified offices which, importantly can
provide them with their own front door
and provide an attractive working
environment for their staff. Specification
highlights such as a fully equipped kitchen on each floor of our buildings makes moving into on of our schemes far eaier than buildings which do not provide this type of feature as standard"
Other features of the Business Homes CALA product include a state of the art CCTV security system on all developments. Brian added "Our customers feel both safe and secure in their working environment which at present is one of the most importantconsiderations for any occupier".
Given the success to date, Business
Homes CALA are aggressively seeking
further sites throughout Scotland. At
present, 20 sites are being developed
throughout the UK contributing to annual
sales of £110 million. This scale of
development means that savings can be
made on construction costs and thus
pricing of completed buildings can be as
competitive as possible.
Two new developments are due to be
announced shortly in and around the
Glasgow area and with discussions
ongoing on a number of other sites
throughout the country, further
schemes shall be coming out of the
ground in the short term.
